Sydney!

After leaving Melbourne we took our first Greyhound coach to Canberra which took about 8 hours. We spent a day and couple of nights there which was nice but there wasn't much to see there so we set off early on the second day to Sydney Central. The city is buzzing with life day and night and theres so much to do and see. Our first hostel was right in the city with easy access to all the famous landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. We also took a ferry to a lovely beach called Manley beach and visited an Aquarium where there were huge sharks! We managed to get a deal with our accomodation that included a trip to the Blue Mountains which everyone was raving about so we were really looking forward to it. There should have been amazing views of canyons as well as rainforest walks and Kangaroo spotting. Unfortunately, the day didn't exactly go to plan. The night before there was a huge thunder storm which meant the road to where the Kangaroos were was closed as it was flooded. We were disappointed but still looking forward to the amazing views we were sure to see!
The main event of the day was visiting the "Three Sisters" which is a famous rock formation set in a huge canyon, but that failed to go to plan either and as we arrived a thick fog descended and you could barely see your hand in front of your face, nevermind the views of the canyon! We did, however, manage to see the funny side of it as there were lots of tourists at the look out point looking at absolutely nothing and it looked really funny! After that slightly disappointing day we spent a couple more days enjoying the sights of Sydney before we felt completely "citied out" and decided to head for the nearby surfers resort called Bondi Beach. Its a lovely place with a really chilled out atmosphere which is a relief from the hustle and bustle of Sydney and Melbourne. The beach is beautiful and is where we spent most of the day! The only downside is our accomodation, the room is ok but we usually get joined by a couple of pigeons whilst trying to cook in the kitchen and theres about 8 plates, and a couple of broken pans for at least 100 people staying there! I suppose its all part of the experience though!
Our plan now is to stay in Bondi for a week before heading further up to the cost to Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise! It just seems to be getting better and better!
