The Capital City

On our last day in Kuala Lumpur we set off early to the Petronas Towers or twin towers of Malaysia. They are the worlds tallest free standing buildings and were amazing to see. Fortunately we were taken in the lift to the 41st of 88 floors where there is a glass bridge connecting the two towers. From here there were incredible views of Malaysia, and we were so high that cars just looked like dots on the road.

In the afternoon, we headed out to Malaysia's National Mosque which was a beautiful place. We carefully chose what to wear in order to cover our arms and legs but they still insisted that we wore head dresses and robes but we looked more like old washer women than anything else! (I have pictures!) It was definately a good experience and were glad we went.

In the evening we went to China town for tea with the whole group and then we braved the Kuala Lumpur night market. It was a bit scary at first as it was so cramped so we stuck to each other like glue and held on very tightly to our bags! We soon got used to the atmosphere though and started to enjoy it. We even did some haggling and got some great bargains!

All in all, our short stay in the capital city was really great!
